The National Computer Board, operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, organised the Safer Internet Day (SID) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Human Resources on 13th February 2014. On this occasion, a half day workshop on Youth Safety on the Internet was hosted at the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture, Phoenix where some 800 secondary school students and 150 delegates attended the event. The objective of the event was to sensitise students on the impact of threats and consequences that improper use of the Internet may have on the youth. The workshop was officially opened by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Hon. Tassarajen Pillay Chedumbrum.
