Indonesian Hackers Deface Subdomain of United Nations Website

A group of hackers going with the handle of Indonesian Cyber Freedom has hacked and defaced a sub-domain of the United Nations website on Tuesday 07th April. The targeted sub-domain belongs to GEF Small Grants Programme of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).  Hackers left a deface page along with a message on the hacked UNDP domain. The main page of the site was replaced by hackers with one of their own using a php shell. The reason for targeting the site was not mentioned anywhere, but according to the hackers, it was due to poor security that the site was hacked. It is to be noted that in the past also several sub domains and main websites of the UN were defaced.
