Workshop on International law in cyberspace
The Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation (MITCI) and the Computer Emergency Response Team of Mauritius (CERT-MU), in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), are organising a 2.5-day workshop from 15 to 17 October 2025 at the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel in Mauritius to support the development of a national position on how international law applies in cyberspace. The workshop will focus on sharing good practices, addressing challenges, and enhancing understanding of international legal principles. It will involve discussions with key national stakeholders, including lawyers, diplomats, policymakers, and cybersecurity practitioners, after which CERT-MU, with UNIDIR’s guidance, will draft and finalise the document.
This initiative will strengthen Mauritius’ capacity to safeguard national interests, contribute to a secure and stable digital environment, and reinforce its commitment to international collaboration on cybersecurity.
