Safer Internet Day 2026
The Safer Internet Day 2026 will be celebrated on the 9th February 2026 in Mauritius. The theme for this year’s SID is “Smart Tech, Safe Choices – Exploring the Safe and Responsible Use of AI. On this occasion, the Computer Emergency Response Team of Mauritius (CERT-MU), with the support of Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation and in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Human Resources, is organising a workshop at Octave Wiehe Auditorium, Reduit, from 11am – 2pm.
The workshop will comprise of different activities such as a Round Table discussion on “Child Online Protection: Responsible Use of AI” and an AI competition for tertiary students.
The objective of this workshop is to bring together key stakeholders to exchange insights and experiences on safeguarding children online, with particular emphasis on the social, ethical, and technological challenges posed by the growing use of artificial intelligence in digital platforms.
